But it is if the rest of the good guys leave.
Besides why have rules if they're not enforced?
As it is, I constantly rant about how good this site is to my interested (and those not so interested!) friends, and have brought a couple of new users here.
I would hate to have to stop recommending the site to people.
I know it's impossible to completely stop the cheats (as with sandbaggers), BUT it is important to at least make a show of trying to do something. I just wish I had the answers!

If all the higher rated palyers leave than I guess I'm stuck with "Who's better: bishops or knights" type of threads.
Would you really leave the site if the cheats were not banned?
I know I won't because those that cheat tend not to affect my personal gaming experience.
This will be true of most users on the site, that the cheats do not directly impact on them.
That may seem to be a bit of a "head in sand" attitude but thats life.
With the game mods ...[text shortened]... not really bothered about putting their views into these threads.
Just my opinion.
We already lost Korch on the chess forum (because of other reasons) and he was extremely valuable even if at times too fiery with his opinions. I'd hate to see all of those more learned players leave the site because of a sad situation.
Now if you aren't that interested in discussing a little bit more of some deep questions of chess I see your point.
