Guy joins RHP under the username "Yasser Seirawan" claiming to be THE YS. Gives out inane chess advice in the Chess Forums like claiming a game with the Petroff's defense was the "Queen's Fianchetto Opening". At some point says he's going to open 50 accounts for chess playing youths in the Seattle area. At another point, Russ indicates that he seems to be the real YS. Plays one game against Bbarr and is soundly thrashed. Goes away. Finis.

I am trying to register for a rating specific tourney either the 1700-1799 or 1800-1899 perhaps both depending on how everything falls...however i am unable to register for these tourneys because i am a provisional player. I am afraid i will miss the boat for the 1700-1799 as there is only one more slot open. And i need to complete 3 more games to qualify. nobody seems to want to finish their games with me. Is anyone up for a couple of quick games win lose or draw i am tired of this provisional rating.

Would a FIDE 2345 really want to enter a 1700 or 1800 tournament here?

Would you care to wager that TB ain't TP?
Originally posted by Mephisto2If this was Game Mod business, sure. But no-one has accused Tommybear of cheating. He may well have made the accusation up to seek attention.
Shouldn't you, as a gamemod, have the decency to treat this matter OUTSIDE the forums? Wether the player is genuine or not, what is going on here in public is disgusting. And if tommebear is who he claims to be, he deserves public apologies.
He started this thread, asking for public validation. My suggestion that he posts his next post in Flemish, to match the language of Tom Piceu's website, was serious. If he posts in Flemish (very close to Afrikaans which I know well), I'll be seriously impressed.
He claims to have played David Tebb several times OTB, which David denies.
If tommybear is who he claims to be, bully for him. Why should anyone apologise?
If he was accused of cheating, he should have sent feedback to the site admins and complained of harrassment. Not start a public thread!
If he doesn't like what happens in this thread, he only has himself to blame.

interesting.. as he has entered a tourney in Belgium in July, and a Netherlands tournament in August
He posted a vacation flag about three weeks ago (october) saying he's flying to Belgium for a national tournament. This guy sure loves to fly!

Don't hold your breath waiting for Dave to publicly do either. I searched last night for an e-mail address for the Belguim Chess Federation to see if I could get in touch with the real Tom Piceu, but most of the links don't work. If anybody could direct me to a site or give me a e-mail address for the Belguim Chess Federation we could expose this mini ...[text shortened]... an impostor. I would greatly appreciate any help you could give in this matter.
Fair enough?
