>I for one have enjoyed cribs' posts. He gives us thought generating ideas and I truly appreciate his presence in the forums. I haven't posted in the forums in a while because people thought I was posting too much. This is one of the reasons why I joined but now I feel afraid of posting because I dont want to cause any commotion. It just isnt worth the hassle of causing arguments and spoiling peoples' day. I hope he Keeps posting he will have at the very least one interested reader in myself. I also hope that the forums would welcome me back as a interested reader and poster, I feel as though we all have alot to gain from the community that the forums offer.

I have also enjoyed the VAST majority of cribs' posts. More important, however, is I enjoy cribs the person at least as much, and find him to be an excellent addition to our community.
Based on what I know of the event in question I must say I do not understand why the 3 day censure happened. I do not deny the moderators the right to moderate, but what has been the result? Consider what would have happened had the thread never been moderated and Cribs never been censured...nothing? Perhaps an argument that boils hot and fast for a few hours only to disappear to the 2nd page before we know it? This controversy is probably a MUCH bigger issue than it ever would have been if we had simply let it alone.
The moral of this story?
Post to others as you would wish to be posted to, and for crying out loud could we stop being so darn sensitive?! I have not seen the 'cry to teacher' phenomenon run this rampant, outside a pre-school class, in my life.

First and foremost, I'm sorry for the vicious personal attack

Because I want the forums to be a place where people aren't afraid to speak their mind for fear of hurting someone else's feelings. Of course, there are posts that are cruel, in which the arguments become personal, etc. I agree that the forums would be a better place without such posts. There are also posts, however, where an opinion is expressed or an ar ...[text shortened]... ng priveleges. Why does such a critique qualify as the sort of post "we don't need here"?
look at some of the threads and you'll see that people want this to be a kind place not a nasty one.
i'm fine with people speaking their minds, but it can really be done without being cruel and unkind.
if cribs is unhappy with his suspension, why doesn't he just take the matter to russ?
why is it necessary to go after flash in this fashion?
it is wrong to singling out a moderator like this and in my mind goes beyond "hurting someone's feelings". it is a personal attack on the individual.

i don't think it should be just 'let alone'.

Since this post will certainly, and deservedly, be moderated, I'd like all to acknowledge its truth and awesomeness before it is justly removed.

Cribs, logical analysis and social parody are dealt with by clever programs. The ''Ivanhoe Engine'' is designed to fight the former, while the ''Pradtf Engine'' fights the latter. They are really well-written, but there are some problems with the ''catchphrase heuristic'' in the first and the ''signature routine'' in the second which l ...[text shortened]... Could you translate your post in a way it is understandable for a simple Dutchmen ?
