Has anyone here had their heart broken recently? What did you do about it? How did you recover?

Yes, I know... time heals all wounds. But I'm looking for some big secret to help the process along a little bit. Any success stories out there? Any keys to a quick recovery?

Only time will heal, as any other wound. Give yourself time and when you are ready, you will meet a new love.

When I last was in a similar situation as maybe you are, I met a person who helped me. The relationship lasted for three years and was based on mutual sympathy, neither of us thought it was more than that. It kept me occupied and appreciated. When it ended, I felt different and better.

Quick recoveries are usually short lived and may actually hinder the process.

Twice. I believe in second chances (based on an individuals folly), there in never a third. Put in room 101 & move on with more life experience.

Sorrow can be alleviated by good sleep, a bath and a glass of wine.

Around Christmas is never a good time, especially with the year we have had with everything going on. You'll bounce back, I am sure you've been through this before.

The first time left me feeling really wretched and unwanted, the second time I thought ‘hey, there are other nice men around who are interested in me’ and I soon met another on a different dating site which was far more meaningful.

I’m of the view that I never chase after men, or tell them how much I am missing them. I prefer to make them think that I never cared that much about them anyway 🙂

In her situation, I would guess she needs things to get her mind off herself if that is possible. Time will do the trick anyway.

That's a good thought. My mother used to say: It was never meant to be. That's a good thought too.

The timing really sucks a few weeks even less than that from Christmas.

You can feel very lonely in a company. There is no easy way out, it just has to be endured.

and the pain is omnipresent
the ache is as breathing is
and i'm grateful for words said, but not meant
