I don't think I could write a poem on chess,
In fact the idea of it fills me with stress.
It's not that I cant, or I'm not in the mood.
It's just to be honest, I'm not very good...
At chess
It's depressing I still play so poor,
I only play games that begin with e4
If I don't see e5, in return I just sigh.
Cause I know I'll end up with my pawns piled three high.
I'm a dolt of a Scotsman that can't play the scotch.
And my lack of ability is a pain in the crotch.
I send knights way ahead with an idea in mind,
Forgetting about the pawns I leave behind.
They move bishop f4. Ahhhh it's happening again!
As I trigger the end game somewhere around move 10.
Then my stupidity written in stone is now proved.
As I sit 9 points down taking 5 days to move.
So if you do not mind, I'll pass on the Task.
I won't write your poem, so please do not ask me again.
Cause I tend to make lots of mistakes...
Wait a minute!
I just wrote one.
Well isn't that great!
Checkmate.
The fate of chess with my mate Jess
Battles with knights, rattles and fights
Rook on the lawn please don't take my pawn
Bishop move a hassle, dish up a quick castle
Queen positioned as bait and that's it, a routine checkmate
King on the wing, hunkered and conquered
The game and rhyme is done
Tame, sublime and fun
8 by 8 and 16 too
the white queen has work to do
everytime she says "its hard"
the king simply remarks-
"you may be reddish and sullen Darl'
but that is simply another scar. "
forever dancing with their shadows
the king and queen they make their vows
"i'll slay all to reach our goal"
"And if I die we'll never know"
