A browser for me is not just something minimalistic to get on the internet (chrome)and get raped. What extensions does it have to block ads, block flash, allow/disallow scripting from certain sites (security extensions) and run customised scripts e.g. greasemonkey? Those who can, get Firefox.

I have a question then...Some say their ff is slow starting...Mine seems quick as a flashing whip...Why would some be slow and others not be?
From what I've heard, the most common issues for Firefox being slow are a lack of resources available to run it (ie: crap computer or lots of other programs running), too many Plugins and Extensions installed, a corrupt profile, or just that they haven't cleaned out the cache/cookies in years.

There are pictures here how to clear your cache if FF is slow to start up. http://mozillalinks.org/wp/2009/07/workaround-for-firefox-3-5-slow-startups-on-windows/
As most people are on v3.5.3 now, you can give it a try but I doubt it will do anything.

Originally posted by Daemon SinI'm using firefox 3.0.3 with 23 add-ons and (by today's standards) a pretty average PC, and I have no complaints about slow loading times for firefox. It's not an instantaneous start-up like Chrome, but I can wait the HUGE one second for my preferred browser to load, also I get really annoyed when I have to use another browser or computer for some time that doesn't have my essential add-ons.

I will admit that if I have 50 content-heavy tabs open then things get a bit sluggish, but that doesn't happen very often.
