@drewnogal saidSo do you put a lot of weight into the thumbs up or down?
A number of posters (11), repartee, humour, poetry, compliments, some UP thumbs....

@very-rusty saidNot really though it shows that someone has read the post.

@divegeester saidHmm, that’s tricky.
Firstly, define what a “successful thread” is.
One that gives a sense of achievement. 🙂
@drewnogal saidLOL...I guess lots of people read my posts if you are going by the thumbs up/down as a successful thread. 😉

@drewnogal saidMake that 12, I don't know about humour, but here's a limerick, (which might count as poetry??)

There was a young man from Calcutta
Who sat in a bath full of butter
He could make it sound sane
When he tried to explain
But he's really a bit of a nutter.
(I've just been to India)
I think you are a very nice person, and I just thumbed - up your post, which I believe fulfills most of the criteria. Anyway it's a good thread, friends having a chat about nothing in particular, which are in my opinion the very best kind of threads.
@indonesia-phil saidI for one enjoyed your journal about your trip, interesting and learned some things at the same time.

@drewnogal saidConsider it done, the achievement, that is.

@very-rusty saidYes, to the everlasting disappointment of us all. You've probably wasted more people's time than anyone, anywhere.

@very-rusty saidI'm glad you enjoyed the 'India' thread. I never thumb anyone down, if I disagree with something I try to respond, sometimes more successfully than others!
So do you put a lot of weight into the thumbs up or down?

I'm feeling annoyingly positive this morning, must just pop off and get depressed about something....

@indonesia-phil saidLOL....Just stay in a good mood. I am always in a good mood, well at least 99% of the time. I did indeed enjoy your up dates from you India trip. When it comes to thumbs down I would sooner say something if I am going to give one it is to show my disagreement with the poster, but I will as a rule also say something in writing which doesn't go over well as some people don't like to hear the truth or hear someone else's opinion.

Trump 2020 🙂
Now the thread is complete.

@drewnogal saidSeems reasonable; in that case I’d say it was a sense of team achievement and that would be measured by the number of posts divided by the number of posters. The smaller the number the more successful the thread.
