Russia would have overcome Germany how? They were suffering from starvation where the Soviet Union lost an estimated 20 million lives. True bravery which we as kiwis fail to honor.

The USA with it's pirated nuclear technology did save the day.
Germany was defeated before the atomic bomg was used. Russia already overcame Germany before D-day and was only doing some cleaning up.

Montgomery was a total dick and over-rated as a commander. He is solely responsible for the thousands of allies killed at Caen and later at Arnhem because of his megalomanic personality.

My father was in the European Theater in WWII and had a very low opinion of Montgomery. Mostly flash and a big ego.
