I'm tired of just surviving, I'm tired of being just one more rat in the g ...[text shortened]... and it has been my inspiration in many things, music and poetry. But it is time to wake up now.
Try going East, Starrman. People in Eastern Europe are really alive. They have this natural curiosity to learn new things and to do new things, which is something that most people in Western Europe lose at the age of 25 when they "settle down".

The thing I hate the most is routine. What's the point of going through a day where I've done exactly the same things as yesterday and will do again tomorrow? It just seems that some people only really live when they are on vacation...

It does scare me to think that I'm getting like that. Like my dad, I've got wunderlust I guess. He did some amazing things before he died, he was in prison in China for reporting on civil rights issues, he crewed on the last ever Grain Race from England to Australia aboard the Passat, he travelled all over the world and never stopped. I wnat to be able to look back at my life and say I did some of that.

Actually, I did get a climate shock moving to Montreal - from the heat!!
I expected cold winters, no-one told me it was 35C+ for most of the summer, with high humidity.
