Earlier in the year in LA, an Amazon doorbell recorded a crime outside the homeowners house.
The first thing the homeowner knew about it was when a member of the LAPD knocked on her door. The doorbell, of its own volition had forwarded the crime scene footage to the cops.

Which I suppose helps to explain why Ira Levin's "This Perfect Day" was never made into a movie, even though his novels "A Kiss Before Dying" and "The Stepford Wives" were.
