@very-rusty saidHe’s a good “buddy”.
fmf your buddy was advocating himself for Moderator at one point. What are your thoughts on that?
@divegeester saidDon't be a literalist. It's an analogy, nothing more. You know, like an allegory.
No one posting here is campaigning for election.
@badradger saidYou may be confusing two different platforms. FaceTime is Apple. FaceBook is Mark Zuckerberg.
I am on facebook and use it to facetime my family in Oz for free and keep in touch with my son in Northampton.....and to stir and muddy the waters.
Of course FB has many satisfied users who stay in touch over long distances, apparently for free. The hidden costs are masked and for many users probably irrelevant. There are other social media platforms which don't sell user data to third parties or monetarize children; just sayin'.
@badradger saidI don't have FB on my phone. WhatsApp is far more convenient to use than the sprawling [and abominable] FB.
why bother when we all have facebook on our phones and laptops, its easy to use and convenient.
@divegeester saidI wondered if people here thought this was a good idea?
Facebook has introduced “anonymous posting” in groups.
In the wake of the “anonymous thumbs” conversations here at RHP, I wondered if people here thought this was a good idea?
I'm not sure. I suppose the only way to know is to try it and see if people like it. Personally I think Facebook is overrated. I used it to get info. on a class reunion, but shut my account down a few years ago.
@very-rusty saidThey are a pair of treacherous swines.

Don't drop your guard for a minute.
@the-gravedigger saidYou will get no argument from me on that one. 🙂

@divegeester saidYou're reaching.
What’s even more odd is your public signalling to your group that you want to comment on the topic but simultaneously you don’t bother commenting on the topic, but instead send a horizontal barb about “trolls” aimed at your detractors as you are trapped in some mental paradigm which prevents you just posting directly to others like a normal person.
Stretching out to catch something which isn't there.
Beyond teaching.
You fetch for clever, but find, there's only air.

@divegeester saidAnd they still have done nothing about you.
Clearly you hadn’t or your initial pitch wouldn’t have been a moot one about in the inability for site admin to recognise abusive posting and do something about it.
