"Favourite cheese"

Mine is of course English cheddar, preferably from Cheddar in Somerset. However there are some wonderful examples from all over the UK available in the supermarkets. I get very disappointed with soft cheese and even more so when a restaurant describes it cheeseboard as "as selection of fine English cheeses" and there is not a decent piece of cheddar in sight.

What type of "cheese" suits you?

Limburger is great with potatoes.
If all like to eat it: no problem.

I haven't tried that. How are the potatoes prepared?

I like the limburger spread, smeared onto a well-toasted english muffin, or any kind of toast really. Lots of butter as well.

That's probably a contributing factor to my triple bypass a few years ago!

Did I ever mention that I tried the "Alsace Pizza" flammekueche you suggested a few years ago during one of our games? I found a recipe for it and we gave it a try. Great! I'm not sure my wife liked it all that much, but I really enjoyed it!

But back to cheeses, sharp aged cheddar is very good, and swiss is another favorite, and also provolone. I guess I like them all, depending on what they are eaten with.....

We had this as fast food when I was young. You just cook the potatoes and peel them. Then you give a generous slice of Limburger and eat it with the still warm potatoes. A traet, sadly enough my wife doesn't like it....but my sons do 🙂

I am glad the Falmmkueche was to your liking.

It seems that the award goes to Sicilian Sausage
for being the big cheese. 😀

That's not cheese. It can't be. Isn't it mostly oil?

Put me down for some medium sharp cheddar, although I do like gouda and even havarti is quite good.

"We're all out of that, sir."

"Was supposed to be delivered this morning."

"No, no, no, no, yes, wait... oh, the cat's eaten it."

And cheddar?

"Not much call for it 'round here."
