The reason I don't want IE and FF at the same computer is the same as not having Linux and MS Windows in the same computer. I did that experiment once and I had ultimately to reinstall windows again and start from the beginning. I think (correct me if I'm wrong) that windows heavily relies of IE and if you tamper with this, then you might be in trouble.
(During my Linux adventure, a friend of mine, religiously into Linux, saying how good it was, and there wil be nooo problems for you... Well, I had problems, and he was always at my home, trying to correct me, finding substitutes and work-arounds. Whenever I had to do something important with my computer I had always some problem with it. From now on, I thought, I will have my computer hygiene and secutiryt as high as possible, therefore IE it is, never FF.)
If I am alone of this computer, then I have to worry about my own backups and installation fo probrams. But when others work with the same computer and trust that it will always work, even after my experimenting, then I can get myself very much into trouble.
If I ask the question - May I ever have problems with national characters, like Å Ä and Ö, if I install this or that program? - then I cannot ever rely of answers coming from English users, more that "I should work." My experience is that problems will arise wenever you switch from programs you know work to programs that should work.
Back to FF: I have came to the conclusion that it's time for FF, thanks to ourobouros formidable tricks. I wish that his scripts would work in IE too, or if RHP would be rewritten with similar functionality included.

It does not tamper with Internet Explorer and so it not liable to be attacked like IE. The people who cheat you that FF and IE share cookies have been sniffing glue.
Originally posted by FabianFnasDude, Linux/Windows are operating systems, FireFox is just another piece of software. You don't need to uninstall IE or anything drastic.

RE: characters
öòûùÿáíÖ - All input using FF. I'm not sure how you input them now in IE? ALT + ###? If so, no problem.
Originally posted by FabianFnasAt home I use Firefox as my standard browser, but I haven't removed IE and still use it for some pages that don't work properly in Firefox (I have a Firefox extension that lets me open a page in IE, so I don't even need to copy and paste the address). I have never had any problems due to using both browsers. However, I never use IE for TFC, so I can't tell you how that works. You will have to log in again if you don't enable multiple browsers (I noticed that on another computer when I was switching between Opera and Firefox).

Originally posted by CrowleyYou must admit though? IE is set up directly for windows as its server. FF is not, and doesn't perform in the same manner using windows. I like both, but FF isn't a part of microsoft's tenacity of keeping a hold on the whole search issue, and doesn't respond in a manner easy for a non compu buff?
My point, smartass, is that it doesn't matter how you input them, FireFox handles it fine.
Please go and hose down a pavement.

I have the Norwegian version of Firefox, by the way. I doubt it makes a difference in how well it works, but if you prefer to have the menus etc. in your own language, I am sure there's a Swedish version, too.
Originally posted by NordlysI noticed there were a few ignorant nihilists and I didn't want to mention any names. I showed the link to the Swedish version as well as a page with all localized versions such as Norwegian, Swedish, Italian etc Perhaps we are expected to show users how to click with their mouse as well.
