Importing cookies and favourites does not mean that FF and IE share cookies/files/folders after installation. I always say no - do not import any cookies or settings from IE.
You will note that the site has been tested with a recent version of FF 2.0xx and you are linking/using FF 0.9. It could be that uzless is also that ignorent as yourself. 🙂

It was a quick search. Do you honestly expect me to find the page referring to the latest version of FF when everybody (who knows anything) knows that the latest version of FF can also import cookies from IE. Everybody (who knows anything) also knows that IE cookies aren't standards compliant so there may be issues with using the imported ones in FF.
Well done on saying no to importing cookies. How do you know that uzless does the same? Remember that this thread was started by somebody looking for help. Also, if you care to browse through the Help forum on here, you'll find multiple threads asking the same question as uzless. The answer has always been that there is a cookie conflict and the solution has been to clear the cookies in both browsers.
BTW: It's ignorant.

Some of you are going overboard. Firefox has nothing to do with Google. It is just a browser. Different search engines can be accessed by any browser like IE, FF , Opera.
I suspect that uzless who started the thread was being mischievous.
I don't find Browser wars to be funny.
Do you like Kirk or Picard?

Hey WW, do you have a finn oven? You might call it by a different name...

you really call it a finnish stove? we call it a kachelofen, or 'kaakeliuuni' in finnish.

FF has never worked properly for me. I have reinstalled it several times and its always the same rot. And I also ask, do you gain any significant use with FF?

Originally posted by FabianFnasI have never heard of Windows relying heavily on IE. In fact, I have uninstalled IE from this computer with no problems. I only use FF on it. It runs on XP. The other computer, with Vista, has both FF and IE, because I haven't gotten around to uninstalling the IE. The problems I have with it are because Vista is crap. It doesn't like OpenOffice and so OO tends to freeze at times when a document or spreadsheet is open. On both, FF is set as the default browser.
The reason I don't want IE and FF at the same computer is the same as not having Linux and MS Windows in the same computer. I did that experiment once and I had ultimately to reinstall windows again and start from the beginning. I think (correct me if I'm wrong) that windows heavily relies of IE and if you tamper with this, then you might be in trouble.
...[text shortened]... pts would work in IE too, or if RHP would be rewritten with similar functionality included.
