Come on man. Stop licking me dude. 😛😛😛
You make very generalised statements. Of course when England manage to qualify for the World cup finals, there is a lot of hype surrounding it. It's only natural. All it is, is a healthy 'belief' that we can manage to win. Look at he last three teams to put us out of it. Brazil, Argentina and Germany (when they ...[text shortened]... can go that little bit extra, or maybe just get a fluke deflection that will bring us glory. 😉

You base the opinions of an entire nation on one football commentator's comments? Shame on you man. Everyone knows that what most commentators come out with is complete twaddle anyway. I don't think I've met another fellow English man that didn't fall off his seat laughing at that comment either. 😛

Edit: I think there is a slight difference between the attidue that 'it is possible we can win the world cup', and 'We are the best in the world and will definately win it cos we're that good'. You keep on believing the English press, mate, if you want. If you want to judge a nation by what it's BS media and propaganda machine has to say, then feel free. I for one don't. Other than that, I wish you all the luck in the World to qualify. We may even end up in the same Group. 😀

LOL! actually you are missed informed my half anglo-sassenach friend 😛
your fellow countyfolk on the telly ram it down our throats how excellent you are at all sports, <snip>
you are of course correct to suggest that we love watching england at penalties....if only all yer fitba games were settled this way!
the problem with scottish f ...[text shortened]... d for the record, ive said it many times, theres only one team in glasgow and thats the THISTLE!
Aswell as the teachers dispute the big teams buying success from abroad has done nothing to help you. Even some of the smaller teams in England have decent youth setups (Crewe Alex' for example).
Even if Scotland beat Norway you still have to win the remainder of games and hope they slip up again. Unlikely.
Re: your other post - So you admit Scottish fans brought hooliganism to England. You can't really complain about it then!

1966, though we did cuff you something senseless at wembley the following year, 3-2 going on 18-2.
300 years of direct mis-rule
culloden
the butchers apron which many of yer compratiots believe to be the flag of ingerlund and not the ununited kingdom
jimmy hill
arrogant attitudes by the media of ingerlund
imperialistic attitudes - ask the people of iraq or colombia for instance
and of course the HOOLIGANS
...more to follow
BUT LET ME SAY THIS - when ingerlund are at home i support the opposition, when they are away i support the opposition and the local police force!
Originally posted by rhbno you took this jovial act as justification for terrorising other countries the ingerlund fans go to.

Originally posted by rhbUm, Roy Keane? And how can you say that a team with a notorious left winger problem wouldn't happily take Damian Duff? And would the England first XI include David James? If so (But I'm guessing not), Given has been the most reliable keeper in the permiership for years.
It'll be interesting to see the representation in the UK team for the 2012 Olympics.
If it were now there'd only be Giggs in with a chance of replacing any of the England first XI.
And besides the point: Olympic teams only allow 3 over 23 players.

no you took this jovial act as justification for terrorising other countries the ingerlund fans go to.
It doesn't excuse any of it though 😞
Anyway - will be back on this thread tomorrow night - hopefully with the result to make you eat humble pie for your misguided support.

Further to the edit - wouldn't take Keane now he is past it, Duff would be a must have if we could make him not Irish.
