I hope my weakness for worldly pleasures is defeated by my will to
have a fulfilling life free of that delicious nicotine.

Exercise: Check.
Water: Check.
Focus: Check.

This morning woke up at 7.00 am and went to swim 2 kilometers
and then a 20 minute sauna session at 85 C. I felt like a champ,
but when I was out ...[text shortened]... reet the desire to smoke was too strong
to believe it.

I chewed 3 nicorettes in a row.

πŸ™
Good luck! And it helps remembering whenever you are tempted to smoke what it feels like to not smoke. That clean feeling inside. Its better than the temporary 6 minutes of pleasure followed by the crummy feeling the rest of the day.

Exercise has helped the most each time. Doesn't have to be overly strenuous, just consistent. Removing yourself from the situations where you used to always smoke can help also.

Good luck, don't get down on yourself for any momentary relapses, you are moving in the right direction.
Thanks, mate! πŸ™‚

What can I do to stop my trembling hands and my desire to kill
everybody around me? Should I start drinking heavily?
start?

kill. everyone. now!

(good job, and don't start again even if you 'accidentally' smoke one or two at times.)

WHat's the difference between chewing gum and patches?
I am no expert, but I assume that chewing gum would be slightly better because it keeps your mouth active (can't really smoke while chewing gum). My ex used to smoke while using the patches. 😠

I'm holding my head up, taking a drag, breathing deeply, exhaling, tasting food the way it always tastes, delicious, flicking off some ash, and feeling negative about the world around me because I don't subscribe to your ridiculous nonsense. What's next? Are you going to tell me that I can't smell?

You can't really chew that "chewing" gum. The first time I tried the gum was a hasty decision to pop into my smoke-hungry mouth just before a meeting. As I gleefully chomped, the rancid taste burned my throat, and I got the prepuke warm spit thing. Not to mention what I imagine to be the onset of a heart attack.
I vote for the patch.

He'll tell you that if you could smell, you'd experience the smoky reek others around you are sneering at.

Er... well... that was a way to put it, hehe

Great link! Thanks!

I have to understand that I am an addict and I need help.

No more relapses! 😠

You have a point there. The gum, after many consecutive chews,
gives me a terrible feeling in the throat and I feel like vomiting
immediately.

On the bright side, it keeps my mouth busy and that's fine.

I can smell my smoky cologne perfectly well. It's great. I couldn't give a damn what anyone thought.

Don't use gum! Not good. I won't go into gory details here, but don't use gum.
