I guess it depends on what one means by dominate, plus a well socialized dog doesn't need to be treated harshly. They respond well to positive reenforcement
Positive reenforcement, only? So if your dog is biting someones legg you can only encourage this, saying it should not bite has no effect? lol
Originally posted by zozozozoI got a lovely lesson when I had to take my 18 year old miniature poodle to the vet after he collapsed - she said that a loyal pet will hang on two to three years longer out of loyalty to its owner, and gave me old Paris a dignified death. She then said me a lovely bereavement card, which she had no reason to do other than compassion. I was certainly moved.

It is amazing what effect an animal has on a human, in my case he was a mate, not in the beginning, nut after my daughter had tired of him, and he latched onto me, and he was my most loyal friend, If you have not owned a pet, you will have no clue what I am saying, especially a dog and a cat,
It takes a long while to get over such things. My dog at 18 years old was nearly 110 years of age in human years. π

I guess my beef is with pet owners that allow their pets to trash the town. If I didn't know that the pets were around I wouldn't squak.
Mind your manners and animals!
If you hear your dog barking, tell the beast to pipe down. No one else in the neighborhood loves YOUR dog like you, and though it might be convenient NOW for you to have your dog outside barking... We don't want to hear it.
Do You Got That?

As i have mentioned before the whole issue is whether the dog listens to its owner or not. If the dog listens to its owner it will just shut up inside the house when the owner tells it to, and it doenst have to go outside at all.
So eventho I agree with you and think you illustrated this problem pretty good, i will not award it with a rec since it only concerns one detail and the underlying problem has already been given.

I've never heard of a sound proof yard.
Listen, you rec my post or I start pointing out your spelling errors.

I dont know what Phlabibit thinks but i think your dog barking is a total crime. It should be punished by shooting your dog.
This will give you one advantage; you could add her to your skull collectionπ

If I'm in my yard with the kid, wife, or friends, do you think I want a dog constantly barking at us?
That's just rude, and the dog owner isn't being very considerate of people around them.
Again, the dog owner loves the dog and barking might not bother them. That doesn't go for everyone around them.
When I had a dog (some time back now) I'd tell the dog to keep it down. That's just called consideration for others.
