Keep those stereotypes coming.
You're right - the OP is nothing like lumping all gun-owners together.
Lemondrop is giving his view on one person then asking others for an opinion.

Don't overreact!

Guns scare me even though years ago I was a hunter.

stab some one in the shoulder and they will probably recover, no problem

shoot someone in the shoulder, and they'll have life long medical issues

big problem

funny, I don't feel all that safe
I sleep soundly. Have a legally owned gun in my house that I know how to use properly if ever I should need to protect my family. Hope that is never the case.

How many people do you know who have been shot? I know dozens upon dozens.
You can survive a gunshot wound just fine. Or not.
You can survive a stabbing. Or not.

Please do not just make stuff up.

A BB gun in my children's hands...

One would be disinterested and put it down. Rather ride his bike.

The other would try to disassemble it and put it back together.

Neither would think to shoot a bird.

Certain people in the GF are making sweeping generalizations. That's their right. I try to avoid doing that. Not always successful but certainly try.

There is no overreacting from me.
No need for the poor attempt at humor.

Not only do I not know anyone that's been shot but I don't even know anyone who owns a gun. Must be like a war zone where you live ducking bullets just going down the corner to get a carton of milk. You make me appreciate just how wonderful Australia is with every post you make.

Oh......and I think you've proved my point. Thanks redneck.

gunshots will cause more soft tissue damage and depending on the caliber, bone damage

I'll take a shoulder stabbing over a shoulder shot anyday

period

The other one would point it at his brothers and pull the trigger. There's one in every bunch. If they don't have a gun they can't shoot anyone. Simple

I think that dudes been sniffing too much gun powder Lemon. Let him rave on about how wonderful guns are. Bet he won't think so if he ends up looking down the barrel of one some day.

what I don't understand is the lack of common sense these gun advocates have

a bullet tearing through flesh and bone is going to cause much more damage than a knife

it doesn't matter where the injury occurs, a gunshot will do more harm, 99 percent of the time

supervised children will most likely behave

let them roam an open field unsupervised and see what happens

I am a soldier and have seen these things yes - in a war zone you a$$hole. Far from my homeland.

As have your fellow Australian troops - some of the greatest men I have ever had the pleasure of serving with. Men with more integrity, class, and intelligence in their little pinky toe than you seem to have in your entire pubescent quivering body.

Together with some other freedom loving nations, we have tried our best to keep some of the civilized world safe - yes, this includes your sorry a$$.
