Mokko, encourage your daughter to draw scenes, not just characters profiles. Make those scenes as varied as possible and get her to place her characters in as many positions and doing as many different actions as possible. Encourage her also to look at as many other artists in the comic or animatio world as she can.
I saw this kid take his pictures to marvel comics, similar in style to your daughters (profile drawings), in a TV program.
The guy who looked them over said that they were 10 a penny typical. What they like to see is action drawings, not just profiles. Most of a comic is the character actually doing stuff, not posing for a profile shot....maybe you ...[text shortened]... ff aswell (not taking away from the drawings, you understand, this is meant to be constructive).
Originally posted by huckleberryhoundYa...this is just one out of thousands of drawings she has tucked away in her potfolio π......She works with all sorts of styles and some of her better more detailed pictures she keeps very well protected. With two younger sisters on the lose she doesn't take any chances around here.

You should see some of the sword fight scenes she does!

That's good advice Huck π.
Maybe you should get her a book on how to draw manga for her birthday or some other occasion. It would give her a feel for some of the tricks that are actually quite easy to do when you have talent and look really stunning. π

Was just looking through some of the pictures my daughter drew and scanned into her "art" file on the PC. She constantly amazes me with the things she comes up with. She's a huge manga fan and has been drawing manga since she was 6 yrs old. Just in a feel like showing off kind of mom mood.

I'll see if I can't get some of her other stuff off of her. She's still sometimes very shy of her work and I think fears critisism as she always sees the flaws in what she does. I'm really hoping to break her out of her shell a bit more.

Encouragement not criticism at this age, guys! You have only seen one piece of her work, don't put her off π
