Hi, i keep seeing this phrase and not being a particularly trendy web head, i wondered at the definition and the etymology of this word. Having often encountered it myself when successfully hi jacking a thread, being told to take it to this forum or that forum Spanky has left me a little bewildered. From whence did it originate i wondered? What does it purport to be? I felt like a schoolboy whos friends are all discussing what some colloquialism for a genital part of the body means, pointing at me, did i know what it meant! too embarrassed to show how uninitiated i was, i giggled along in sequence muttering of course i do! Then i thought that i would ask the friends of the general forum for their legendary wisdom, so like a traveller who has come to seek the wisdom of the oracle at Delphi, i lay my problem before you. What does this mean and from whence did it originate?

to spank is a common verb in in the english language.
the romaic endingg -ee (or amrican -y) is often used to signify a person on the receiving end of an action signified by the verb. .g. employee
So I reckon that a Spanky is a person, who is spanked. Since we are on the web averbal spanking good to.
Thus you could replace "Take it to the spanky" forum by "you are wrong, and feel spanked (verbally or literal litterally) by this post.
