why do you think this...there is so much garbage on tv it is so much easier not to have one than to try and censor everything my kids watch. plus I feel as though story hour opens their minds and helps them learn, ask yourself when was the last time someone read a story to me...when do they stop reading to students in school. it is a very fun time for most and it improves concentration skills they shouldnt stop reading to students in the 2nd grade simply because they can read themselves. also I find that when i am reading to my kids or they are reading to me, they know I love them and they know I care, this helps create a healthy loving safe environment for them as well as me.
