@the-gravedigger saidDo you often encourage those who have sworn off alcohol to drink?
You wouldn't enjoy it. Everyone will be drinking and enjoying themselves. You know that if you have 1 beer you will wake up 4 days later in a police cell in Port Cartier wondering what the hell happened. ð ð

@the-gravedigger saidI am very Proud to say I kicked the addiction 32 years ago come March 22nd of this year. The smell of any kind of alcohol now repulses me, almost as much as you and the TWINS, soon to be known as the Triplets! Just keep working at it you'll get there! ð

Not to say I couldn't wind up in Jail that is possibility but the other fellow or fellows could wind up in Hospital. One never can foresee the future, but one can underestimate your nemesis. ð

@the-gravedigger saidYou are bringing up drinking to a Man who hasn't touched it in close to 32 years!
No. I told rusty he would not enjoy the party and very bad things would happen if he drank.
I don't call that encouraging someone to drink.
Why? Is it to try and embarrass me about my addiction to alcohol 32 years ago?
Is it to become closer to your TWIN friends? What is your reasoning for bringing it up to begin with?
You actually should be congratulating me in beating my addiction instead of making fun of it. Do you not realize that many people have addiction problems some on this very site?

@divegeester saidAttention to detail is crucial; you must be specific with both your assignments and compliments. You're a courageous individual behind the scenes.
Touchstone is the jester in Shakespeare’s As You Like It; a central figure which all the other characters connect with and are impacted by.
It was a subtle compliment also seasoned with your propensity to act a bit of “the fool” at times, but never mind.
I'd like to reciprocate in kind. If you're attending the costume ball, I envision you excelling in the role of Macbeth, should we decide to incorporate Shakespearean elements. As for Lady Macbeth, I suspect your significant other would make an excellent choice for that part. I apologize if my jest seems to slight the Scots by casting you both as honorary figures in a Scottish tragedy.

a) no one would dress up as a stone and
b) everyone would have heard of “Touchstone” from As You Like It.
Macbeth isn’t a very exciting costume; I’ll stick with my original option, thanks.
@very-rusty saidI didn't know that you used to be a booze hound until you brought it up in the GF.

Have you ever made derogatory remarks on here about another posters drinking?

After all if one is going to go on a Rant in the 2020 EURO thread, and pass it off because they were drinking, and remove and have a bunch of the posts removed by a Moderator, a problem just might exist, wouldn't you assume?
My hope was bringing it up in the forum, may let others who had the addiction, know it can be beaten. As I did it proves it can be done! This was in a hope to help others with a similar problem.

Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures: “‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes.’
Jesus dressed himself up as a stone. Additionally, someone here recently referenced Simon and Garfunkel's song 'I Am a Rock.' I would choose to dress up as a boulder and then proceed to fall upon you.
Apparently you are not a reader of Plato either.
SOCRATES: If my soul, Callicles, were made of gold, should I not rejoice
to discover one of those stones with which they test gold, and the very best
possible one to which I might bring my soul; and if the stone and I agreed in
approving of her training, then I should know that I was in a satisfactory state,
and that no other test was needed by me.
CALLICLES: What is your meaning, Socrates?
SOCRATES: I will tell you; I think that I have found in you the desired
touchstone.
