@very-rusty saidAnyone who counts off the days when they last had a drink still has a problem.
I'd say after 32 years March 22/24 this man has kicked the problem!!! 😛
Nice Try though!!! 🙂
By the way how do you account for his 2020 EURO Rant??? 🙂
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to say it yet once again. 🙂

@the-gravedigger saidYou've never had a problem with drinking or at least never had the balls to say you did which ever the case. So you wouldn't know what an accomplishment it is.

So stick you criticism where the sun never shines old chap! You will find when you learn more that anyone who has had a drinking problems knows the exact day they quit and how long it has been since their last drink.

@very-rusty saidStay off the sauce and you will be fine.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidRookie didn’t take anything out of context, but it’s amusing to see that his comment hit its mark.

@very-rusty saidI was wondering where you came up with the idea that, maybe, Dive has an issue with the drink?🤔 I “knew” him in the past and there never seemed to be a problem. One can enjoy a drink or two without “having an issue”. I know there are some who can’t and hopefully, like yourself get help for it. Well done VR.👍
Gooster has issues most know about. Drinking does kill the brain cells in the part of the brain that controls short term memory. I've told him he needs to get help but he will not admit he needs help. Until he does he will not seek help.

@great-big-stees saidI believe that most of us know what use of alcohol is about, even those who tend to have more of it than others. We have all the information we need to use it in moderation. When people accept the need of having to cut down on alcohol, they will do it. Until then we talk to deaf ears.

@great-big-stees saidSo VR, a recovering alcoholic, is either trolling a person who he genuinely thinks has a drink problem about their drink problem …

… or he’s trolling a person he doesn’t think has a drink problem using the worst thing he can think of from his own life.
Interesting.

@torunn saidAddiction, to anything, is a difficult situation to be in and the motivation for someone to try and kick it comes from the individual. Family and friends telling the addict to change their ways, most often doesn’t work. I speak from experience. I was a smoker for years and it took me three attempts to kick that habit.

@divegeester saidRecovering alcoholic - in Swedish we say 'nykter alkoholist', sober alcoholic.

Even if you're an alcoholic, if you're aware, happy about it and it doesn't impact the lives of others then who cares. Drink away. Same with all other additions... If you fall into the unhappy and impacting the lives of others category then do something about it. If you succeed great but don't be judging others who choose not to.
The worse kind are vegans who preach at meat eaters... Just shut up.

@a-unique-nickname saidI agree - often it does impact the lives of others but an addict may not be willing to accept it.
