far beyond driven was the point when pantera got too boring for me... at first I didn't like cowboys from hell either, mostly because of the falsetto singing. but then the album grew on me, and when far beyond driven came out, I suddenly realized I was missing the old singing and it's variety. too bad the cd mastering in cowboys from hell was still in it's ...[text shortened]... men from the hc scene had turned into angry middle-aged men. there's still hope for us all!
Originally posted by darvlayIt's called "American Hardcore", it's the movie from the book of the same name. There are parts of it that I have issues with. But over all I thought it was decent.
This movie you guys speak of sounds like it would be right up my alley. Is it like a hardcore version of "The Decline of Western Civilization"?
Topics covered:
- Bad Brains
- Minor Threat and the rise of Ian MacKaye
- Straight edge (just a beginning history of the term and mind set of the straight edge youth at that time)
- Black Flag and the rise of Henry Garfield AKA Henry Rollins
- Circle Jerks just briefly though
- SS Decontrol
They even talk to Mike Patton and Flea.

Well mainly cause he always talks about being a fan of hardcore...
but of course the moby & anselmo parts are just a tiny fraction of the document, which was pretty nice all in all.

EDIT - Or Cadena, if you like...
Originally posted by darvlaywell, actually, chavo's gimme gimme gimme kicks the balls off from morris' version. but in the end, I think I'd go with henry. I feel morris really didn't find his place until circle jerks. although wasted was a classic already.

and this is the absolute, ultimate truth of course.
