Kev, as far as I know, GoaD is not ill, nor has he mentioned anything about a rift with you. Everything is running smooth there.
Roma is still Roma - lots of sports talk and lots of jokes of the homemade variety.
Kevin, you could get one of those 3-day visitor Visas and come in and look for yourself <smile>

As for the insomnia, I wish I had some useful tips to provide from my dabbling in meditation. Maybe something like start a pleasant internal mantra going in a soft-focus way, while diffusing or shifting the attention to anywhere but one's head?
