I loathe Mexico with a passion(arguably not part of the 'real' South America). Once you get outside the hotel district, which is, in itself, full of human turdage, the place is a garbage dump mixed with strips of jungle. Some of the best buildings they have are still the ones built by the Spainards. I've seen these idiots building a house out of lo is probably a good thing as we have thousands of the little banditos housed across the US.
Perhaps if the government (from El Presidente right down to the local police) would stop stealing money from the people, then perhaps they could claw their way out of the refuse. Aided and abetted by the Catholic Church (which preaches subservience to authority, as well as pushing large families on the poor), the government is keeping down the living conditions of everyone, guaranteeing them third-world nation status forever.

where is that little old lady selling the 5 doughnuts things with syrup for less than 40 cents u.s.

where are all the friendly people.

where is the most relaxed atmosphere i've never been in.

i'm even starting to miss the food.

:'(
I suppose you could always move back... that is if you love killer bees, army ants, really large snakes, heat, and political unrest. 😏

not to many killer bees thankfully, not many bees actually. army ants don't bother anyone...unless you put a piece of fruit or any food really on the ground...expect that thing to be covered in seconds in places. anyway avoid that and walking bare footed and they ant aren't a problem unless you want to become a farmer. snakes only in the jungle. i love heat but again if you spend most of your time in the andes you'll wonder why s. america has a reputation of being hot, many people will tell you s. america is in fact cold. political unrest all over the world at least the south americans do something if they don't like their government, that's a lot more that can be said about the spineless irish.

What are said thieves doing with the money? How about the drug cartels? Surely these thieving SOB's are building themselves some houses? Surely there is a trickle down effect? I imagine that there are whole villages without a single bar soap to share between them.

Jesus Christ, in what age do you live in?

Do you know that Mexico's anti-poverty program (Progresa, now renamed to Oportunidades) is a commonly cited success case and a worldwide benchmark?

Obviously, their programs are working really well. Some very basic, fundamental social programs are ignored and Mexico is left to flounder. How, after such a promising start, have they managed to marginalize themselves so spectacularly?

By the way, I thought we'd established that you weren't Mexican, but, rather, Portuguese or some such thing? You're the one that's addicted to sardines right?
