what am i supposed to say....in my opinion "Jews" is a perfectly respectable and decent word, and until someone like FNM tells me otherwise i will continue to use it. i dont see it as deflammatory or anything else like that.

I feel the need to ask this question now, as there are probably loads of other non-native speakers who are wondering:
Why is the word "Jew" considered derogatory? I dunno, it might be a difference in grammar, as in German it would be the perfectly normal (non-discriminating) term to use.
I mean, I was wondering if it was just the fact that it's a very generalizing term, but I've never heard of someone complaining about the term "Christians"?
