So, you believe EVERYONE who is not Christian will burn in Hell.
I've never been so insulted in my life.
P-
*My* savior is God's son, Jesus Christ.
If your savior is God's son Charlie, who am I to say otherwise?
Or God's son's son, Mohammed.
There may be many paths, but the destination is the same.
That being said, I'm not likely to believe that God told you you would sit at his right hand if only you would murder your entire family. Or if only you would eat a blue sno-cone every Tuesday. That's an exaggeration, but you get my point.
What I said was it depends on intent. What is written upon your heart. Whether your name is still written in the Book of Life. The proper application of your God-given gift of free will. Faith, not proof.
In my opinion.
Originally posted by adramforallDon't worry. It won't be that bad. We'll just get to go on to eternal life in the presence of God, and you won't. After you're judged at Judgement Day, there will be no "eternal damnation", but your conciousness will end. Turn out the lights. Game over.
Looks like I am doomed then. 🙄 Wonder how bad it will be?
Yes, I'm being flip, because you were. But this is also my belief.

The point I was trying to make is: Man is not doomed just because he believes in God. He's doomed because he does *not* believe in God.
What words are you putting into your mouth? You clearly state that man is doomed because he DOES NOT believe in god.

Your religion insults me, your view that I deserve endless punishment in hell insults me.
By trying to suggest that your religion deserves special considerations over my own belief system in a public arena is ridiculous. Your claim that having no belief in god causing me not to care about anyone else or their opinions is also ridiculous. I give a rat ...[text shortened]... d and I'd guess that if you had a whit more mental prowess, you'd be a very dangerous person.
I do not believe in "endless punishment in hell". See my last reply to adamforall.
And you'd laugh hysterically if you knew the rest of my beliefs. But unlike adamforall, I can keep my mouth shut because I'd unleash a bigger firestorm of posts than this one was.
For what it's worth, the "you" and "your" I used in the post you replied to was atheists in general, and not just you. And I'm assuming atheism. If I'm wrong, I'm sorry.
Originally posted by SuzianneWhat version of hell do you believe in then? Some nice quite place where all the silly atheists can hang out and moan about how foolish they were for not believing in god?

Perhaps if you don't want people to misinterpret you, you should be a lot clearer about what you say and indeed, think about it before posting it. If you look back at your first position in this thread, it's vastly different to the last few.
I have no doubt that you have many other laughable beliefs.
Originally posted by adramforallThat is correct.

What you said earlier wasn't.
I did *not* say "Because he believes in God, Man is not doomed."

The "ultimate punishment" that people throughout the ages have been calling "hell" is simply a division from God. Those who do not "make the cut" as it were, their punishment is destruction. They do not go on to *any* eternal life of any kind. Their exisistence is over. They are removed from God forever. But it is a choice. All men are endowed with free will. This is the purpose of free will. To choose death, or eternal life with God.
Rush had it right.
"If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice."
In my opinion. Since you asked.

I don't mean to JUDGE, but should not this conversation be carried out in the Spirituality forum?
