There's some debate about whether Kunte Kinte was a "fictional character" but that's besides the point.

Now that you do know, do you intend to send Feedback to the Site Admins withdrawing your objection to the avatar?

I don't see the problem here with taking her opinion seriously. Is your problem that she can't explain that certain images provoke pain, sadness and fear? Why does she have to logically explain an emotional reaction, clearly based on a lifetime of said pain, sadness and fear? So what if an image isn't intrinsically racist to you or anybody else?

Censorship: No, I don't agree with it. That's not my point here. I'm commenting on Eflame's comments as to WHY she feels this way.

Who gives a crap if RN and Cash are defending her, here? They're idiots.

This isn't the debates forum. I don't believe a person has to defend their emotions. You cannot insert logic here. There are some things you feel in your heart that you don't need to explain to anybody, period. There is some shock to the brain resulting from trauma that cannot be explained, period. Give her a break.

No, they wouldn't. "Most" people on this board did not go running to the Site Admins demanding/asking/requesting that the avatar be removed as "racist". And the poster admits she didn't have any idea who the character depicted was or in what context the image was used!

Censorship based on outright ignorance? Not a good thing.
Ignorance because she is Black? 😠

It was objectionable so be it #1 moron. Russ has spoken, if you don't like it, threaten to take Russ to court.

So, now you're talking about a mini series, which was on tv, how long ago? If it was on TV, here in Aust, I certainly couldn't remember, I may have been a young kid and the only thing that had my attention, was The Famous Five, Dr. Who and Countdown.

Quite a few hours ago, you would have known, that the pic was of Kunte Kinte. I didn't. You were at an advantage. I wasn't.

I'm doing well : I'm a fool, I"m a troll and now I'm ignorant.

Has anyone from this supposed "pro black" clan made anything by way of an apology for the offence caused?

I think that would speak volumes, either way.

should the KKK be allowed to go into schools and show only the scenes of the movie where "Toby" is whipped and chained while they sit around and chuckle?

We all have emotions. But we shouldn't let emotional reactions override our reason. Nor should the decisions as to what is allowed on this site be determined by the Lowest Common Denominator of what "offends" someone, somewhere for any reason whatsoever.

I don't accept that you should be able to demand/request someone else's expression be curtailed just because it makes you uncomfortable absent rational reasons.

How can that be beside the point? You were the first to tell me who it was. At that point, I didn't know who he was. So, now, because I know this, you're asking me, if I intend to send Feedback? Who are you to ask me that?
