That doesn't matter to you and your moronic ilk; you've found a weak link in the chain here and intend to exploit it for all it's worth. The Site Admins' craven policy to appease a tiny, irrational minority for idiotic complaints based on personal animus and nothing more is shameful.
It's is supposed to be a fictional character isn't it? Anyway white men pretending to be black men by posting some kind of image of a black man as their profile pick in order to show blacks in some kind of a negative situational in order to make fun of them is appauling to many people here. This has nothing whatsoever to do with "racial issues"; I've never seen any member of your clique confront actual racists on this site in Debates. I doubt you even believe your own swill; your constant attribution of racism to others is probably just projecting on your part. That someone would be accused of racism for using an avatar of a man who is a symbol of black pride, courage and fortitude in the face of the most terrible conditions imaginable is beyond ridiculous.
If you were capable of it, you'd be ashamed of yourself. And the Site Admins should be ashamed of themselves for buckling to this type of character assassination and coordinated personal attacks on particular users.
Originally posted by cashthetrashKunta Kinte was partially fictional, the author of the novel tried to track down his ancestors and it led him back to this person, then he wrote a book about him. Kunta Kinte fought very bravely, and even as a fictional character he is an inspiration for us all. He was a hero.

What makes you assume that Sushill posted a picture of the actor who played Kunta Kinte in order to make fun of him? You wrote: "in order to show blacks in some kind of a negative situational in order to make fun of them"
And you really need to learn English if you're going to be posting on an English message board. Saying that Kunta Kinte was a caricature was tremendously racist of you.

It doesn't matter who the actor is portraying or what fictional movie the image represents, and it doesn't matter what a persons IQ or social back ground is. If a person is offended by seeing a Black man in chains and that reminds them of something that happened to people of a certain race and they find it insulting. Then it is reasonable to remove that despicable and violent avatar from public view. Especially knowing that presumed bigots carefully chose to exhibit it when past history has shown images of that sort has repeatedly incited racial tensions and concerns. Only to give themselves cover and shield themselves for what was sure to come. There is no way to justify and win a debate that was already won in society and through civil liberty actions years ago. Please stop festering the issue with your lost cause. Take it to the United nations. You loose.

Instead it was rightly recognized as a landmark in the treatment of the history of slavery and of the people who suffered under that horrific institution. It's fairly obvious that you have never even seen it, yet feel qualified to judge whether images from the miniseries are "appropriate" or not. You're either playing the fool or being one.

No, the fact that a few individuals are sadly ignorant and hypersensitive does not mean that unthinking censorship should be applied. Esp. in this case where the objectors are insisting on a special set of rules being applied to certain individuals on this site based on nothing more than their personal animus. The Site Admins should have used their own judgment on whether the display of one of the most used images from a miniseries virtually universally hailed as one of the most important TV events regarding racial issues was truly "offensive". The TOS is quite clear that a "Least Common Denominator" approach is NOT to be used and that anybody's standard of "offensiveness" is not sufficient to ban material. To wit:
You understand that by using the Service, you may be exposed to Content that is offensive, indecent or objectionable.
In truth, the photo of Kunta Kinte is not "offensive, indecent or objectionable" by ANY reasonable standard. I suspect even you know this. So what it comes down to is that a member has been censored for no other reason then he is in the BWA and people who have a problem with the BWA made a number of complaints which, while objectionally nonsensical, became a "problem" for the Site Admins. So they censored the content, even though they did not find the material "racist" at all.
This is beyond silly. To reward the makings of frivolous, personally motivated complaints in this manner is a dangerous precedent for this site. I sincerely hope the Site Admins reconsider this hasty and poorly reasoned action.

By your "logic" we should ban every movie ever made about World War 2 because it offends Jews, etc. I think you should move into a nice padded cell somewhere so that you will no longer have to be exposed to reality. Ask the doctors to throw in a dictionary so that you may learn how to spell, but make sure they cross out all of the offensive bits.
We should ban redhotpawn too. This is a chess website and the other day I was placed in something called "zugzwang" (look it up in your dictionary). It's a German word. My grandfather was captured at Calais in 1940 by the Germans who held him as a prisoner of war until the war was over. He nearly starved to death. Every time I see the word zugzwang I think of the horrible Germans, and am deeply offended that the game of chess would allow such a thing. We should ban chess and we should ban Germany and we should definitely remove redhotpawn from the internet. I also am offended by redhotpawn because it has the word "red" in it which reminds me of communism and the horrible Stalinist purges. I'm sure you agree. You wouldn't want me to be offended would you?
I sent the followig Site Feedback in response to the answer I received which was by and large consistent with Chris' post here:
It is most unfortunate that you have decided to censor what you recognize is not "racist" content purely because a few members with an axe to grind have complained about non-objectionable images. The policy where a few members can effectively decide what material is suitable for a site is unwise and should be reconsidered. The site's Forums are about the only thing that sets it above other CC sites; it would be a shame to reduce them to the banality that a "no one can be offended" policy would require.
I respectively strongly disagree with this decision.

I personally can't speak for what the Admins do on this site I can just voice my approval of what they did so far. And I do approve as you already know. Many times what I praise them for they reverse latter and give you brats your way. I won't be surprised when that happens.

Had you watched the movie you keep talking about yourself, you might have learned that lesson. So stop your whimpering and complaining about a minority.
