I disagree. Many people haven't even heard of the mini-series. I think age, education and location might be a factor if they have or have not.
People seem like they are ignorant of the word ignorant. It is not a bad thing to be ignorant since we all are ignorant of something or other. The problem is when we act in ignorance which is the case here.

It is pretty much circular. If you know that you know nothing then you don't know that and if you don't know that then you can presume that you know things which allows you to know that etc etc.
