Absolutely not...a program makes the move for you...a book is just a
guide...kinda like all games are not owned by the person that plays
them and can be printed anywhere...but their analysis is subject to
copyright laws.
I can rewrite the rules of Correspondance Chess for you from the USCF
rule book...I posted about it almost a year ago I think.
Dave
So a book is full of other players' analysis which is subject to
copyright, but you still use one anyway against unsuspecting players?
no wonder you are so high on the rating list. Why not use a program
as a guide then. I have no interest in the USCF whoever they are, just
don't like double standards. I repeat that as someone who never uses
either books or programs on RHP i think both are cheating
Double Standards? Look rules are rules....the use of books is what
Correspondance chess is based on...also the fact that you can move
pieces around on the board and then put them back to find out the
best line of play...is that cheating to you?
A program which is rated over 2600 such as Fritz can beat everyone on
here...me being so high on the rating list deals with the fact of my
hard work and determination...and the fact that I am a good player.
And everyone on here is not "unsuspecting" when they play me...they
know I will use all of my resources to win the game....EXCEPT a
program. I also use the same things to teach people here as well.
You are building a straw man at this point...RHP Lve will be up soon
and I think that is what you are looking for...maybe Correspondance
Chess is not totally up your alley.
Dave
BTW...USCF is the United States Chess Federation a governing body
over chess and if what they say is legal then I abide by that...not by
what you think
i don't wish to sound rude and i accept that you are a good player but
you seem to be rather unintelligent. In CorrespondEnce chess it is
allowed to move pieces around i agree, but based on using books,
LOL. You move the pieces yourself someone else has written the
analysis in the book, DOH.. Are you the really the USA Captain?
God had better Bless America.

In no way shape or form did I attack women...you inferred what you
did from my bringing up the product Midol.
I think you are over reacting and need to calm down. I gave clear
reasons why books are not cheating and then you insulted me by
calling me "unintelligent"...I don't have to infer anything from that..it
was blatant and mean.
I have already heard of you cursing at players becuse they denied
your challenges...I have no clue where this hate is coming from..but I
do not wish it to be directed at me.
Dave
Why are you so angry? I'm not asking in a way to make you feel bad,
I just don't understand where your issue truly lies.
Is your issue with using a program vs book? Do you prefer to play
people that use neither, or one of the two? You have an option to put
that in your personal profile that you will only play people that use
whatever method you are comfortable with.
Is your issue with Schliemann? I ask because it seems to me that
you have lost sight of what your original post is about. If you are truly
just angry with Schliemann as your post here is suggesting. Although,
everyone is bound to have a bad day once in a while.....I was
extremely curious by your comments. Do you mean to say that you
are going to sue Schliemann? And what are you talking about when
you say it's true what I heard from my friends here? If there is
something going on behind the scenes of RHP about Schliemann,
maybe everyone should know about it, or is this just a rumour you
heard? It's been my experience as a lurker here, that Schliemann
does delete posts when they become unfocused and more at a point
of attack.
So, risking your focus of anger being turned on me, I want to suggest
to you that you try and figure out what it is you truly are trying to say.
I am sure that you will be able to find people on this site that feel the
same way you do about books, and would be more than happy to play
you. However, this thread has turned into a huge debate over Midol,
which is a crappy product anyway. =) I didn't take you to be the kind
of person that would take a comment like that so seriously, unless
you truly do have issues with Schliemann himself.
I remember reading something like this before on the forum, and I
wonder why of all the thousands of people that play here on RHP
would anyone feel that angry toward one player. Obviously I must
have missed something because I thought this was all about chess,
and good conversation. I however find chess to be a wonderful
spectator sport, and have viewed many well played, inspiring games
here. Ask yourself this, in the great scheme of life, is Schliemann
(some guy on the computer) really affecting your life all that much?
Is he a significant sore point in your day even? I'm sure you have a
lot more going for you than the debate over program vs books. If
not, get some fresh air and think about what might help you to live
your life with less anger.
Again, not meant in an offensive way, just trying to see what you are
on about, and hopefully help you to see that we are not out to get
you. Relax, and have a joyful day!
