I finally got my second vaccination. I got my first dose of Astra Zenica on the 1st of April...two days later, the Irish government decided they were going to stop giving it to the under 50s. As it stood the waiting time for AZ was supposed to be 12 weeks, but they extended it to 16 to see if there was a possibility they could give a different second dose.
Luckily for me (i guess) Europe decided to stop buying AZ this month, so Ireland decided to rush all the second doses through.
No matter. I'm done, and i have the cert to prove it. Now open Prague up so i can go on holiday.

I don't think the US can expect any kind of "herd immunity" until enough people have been vaccinated and if we never get there because of these "refuseniks" then their fears will be self-fulfilling that this virus and precautions will never go away.

My suggestion would be to take a legible picture of your card with your phone so that you can retrieve it on your phone to show authorities who may request it. This is especially important if you travel.

Here’s my position. I had the first one and it made me feel ill for a long time. But, I’m a good corporate citizen of the world and I will have my second one when and if..
It is demonstrated that the vaccines are effective against the new variants, which are being held up and waved about like a shamen’s doll by the scientific community.
I’m very uncomfortable with the way the UK government is using fear and veiled threats to drive deeper and broader vaccination distribution. It’s a fine line I know but I feel we have crossed it in the UK.

@huckleberryhound saidmy wife got the astra vax through her gp practice, the first went well but they failed to contact her with a date for her 2nd jab ( she is very vunerable she hat sjogrens syndrome (an auto immune illness) I contacted the nhs direct and they sorted her 2nd jab, very annoyed with her gp service.

How is the situation in Canada? My daughter hopes to visit her family in Toronto and she will have her second vaccination before that.
We are starting to open back up but they have tried that a few times before so we'll see how it goes.
I live about an hour from Toronto.
I would recommend having your family member wait until next year to visit. Just to be safe.
