I really wish they had upped the pace a little on Mary Ann. Her blatant cheating lasted just long enough to steal a tourney from me and two other players (technically from everyone else in that tourney as well, but meh). And nico, with 12 tourney wins... Iiya! It's just bonkers. It's like a Agatha Christie novel. Who can ya' trust?

Some people do improve over time, but I do think these players were cheating. I've gone up about 150 points recently but that is due to hard work and studying the game, there's no point in getting to the top by cheating but with hard work it is worth everything. 😀

trains also has those old losses against 1000-1300 players, but within a year he's 2100 and going up. 🙂

Does Herbert come as a shock to anyone? I'm kind of shocked by that... Seemed like such a pleasant fellow. So did Exy though, I suppose.

It seems strange that someone would use someone else's name for an account and claim it is really you. I know people who use names like Garry Kasparov are not him but then they don't claim to be him.

Maybe he is Jean Hebert and just didn't understand the RHP rules that do not allow to use chess engines.

Shame about Mary Ann, quite sexy, I would have given her one.

I don't see how a player who is rated 2000+ would not know a rule of chess like that. I know it and have done ever since I joined this site.

Didn't Jean Hebert tell us months ago he was leaving, as he needed to restore his confidence for the Olympiad, where he was in the Canadian team? His confidence having taken a knock because I'd caught him out in the opening?

It seems he wasn't in the Olympiad team anyway.

It's not a rule of chess, it's a rule of RHP. Anyway, he clealy knew about it. From Thread 39446:

"I find it curious how many time I read about chess engine on this site.
ICCF has no rule against using them. Curious as to why that is, except they welcome strongest play. Those who do use them are all close to same rating.
I make it clear here. I accuse no one of anything in my post. Except myself for not playing well.
