Can I ask you, please, to anyone who left home to live alone:
What age where you when you left home?
What country was that in (a European or African country etc- so I have an idea of how safe it would have been)?
How many hours did you move away from your family (roughly)?
Was it a good move, were you okay, did it all go alright?
16, back at 18, again at 20, back at 24, then for the last time at 25. Never lived alone until I moved out at 25.
@yo-its-me saidI left home at 18 to live in one of the halls of residence at university.

From age 19 to 21, I lived in a shared house with three others: we declared it a Free Republic and had different laws pertaining to drugs than those in the UK, whose territory surrounded us completely.
From 22 to 26, I lived alone in London.
When I was 27, I lived with my mum for a year, after which I moved to Indonesia, although my mum was not the reason.

So, it is settled, my 17 year old will live 5 hours drive away from me.
I've put some rules in place, which I think are reasonable and mean I can sleep at night 🙂
