@suzianne saidI think it's also morally sound to lie to protect one's own safety.
When telling the truth endangers someone else. Notice I didn't say oneself. That would not be as morally sound.
Situational, it is.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidI never believe people with that philosophy.

@great-big-stees saidAre you the thing the decomposition happens to?
Aside from decomposition, what really happens to you when you die?🤔

@relentless-red saidAlien arrives on Earth with his ray gun, determined to evaporate every human. Spotting me he asks, "are you a human?"
I never believe people with that philosophy.
"No," I answer, my morality not in the slightest bit compromised. "I'm an aardvark."
@great-big-stees saidNothing. A whole lot of nothing, for ever and ever.

@kilroy70 saidMind is associated with the brain. The two terms are often used interchangeably. Brain is considered to be a physical thing, the mind is considered to be mental. The brain is composed of nerve cells and can be touched, whereas, the mind cannot be touched.
Is the mind and brain the same thing?
Even if the mind knows better the brain and body can be fooled into reacting to something not real.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidMight buy you a few minutes until they ask an aardvark what they are. For me this approach relies too heavily on alien's being unable to communicate with aardvarks. I'd be more inclined just to dodge the ray gun.
