For the gals who were not there, an update on looks: The typical good-lookers would have to be murrow and knightwest (Fabien?). Well, and Liam, if you like the alternative look (I do 😉), and James himself wasn't too bad either. Well and personally, I think Matt Hortin is absolutely adorable 😀

My weekend (written with a huge hangover and still quite possibly drunk)
On Friday, I met up with James(marinakatomb) and Matt (jones2005) and James' girlfriend Anya; the Polish girl he was drooling over in the forums a few months ago, and for good reason 😛 . We sat and listened to the "indie pop" 😉 sounds of Liam's (starrman) band; Bob The Dog, who were fricking awesome! Then Mark (shavixmir) came and joined us, along with Liam (who left quite soon after) and we soon got talking about testicles, beastiality and the such like. Mark then outdid himself by walking, with a great air of confidance into the women's toilet (which was clearly labeled). The funniest thing about this was the look on the face fo the woman who was walking out of the toilet at the same time as he entered. After being abused (verbally!!😛) by Mark for being so drunk I managed to light the wrong end of a cigarette, we left and went out separate ways.
Then on Saturday I was up with a hangover at 8am to go and pick Angie up at Heathrow. It was a long and tiresome journey there, only made better by the fact angie was at the other end of it, and that at Northfields station an American bloke got on a started playing Van Morrison and Bob Dylan on his guitar. At 12:30 Angie and I were at King's Cross where Mark was staying also, and once she had dumped her bag we went for fish and chips, or just chips as it happens.
We the proceeded to Edgware Road at which point we realised Angie had forgotten the map and none of us knew where to go 🙁 Luckily someone (I forget who, but it was probably me) remembered the name of the road so we found it eventually. We were the first there, except Peakite (whose real name I cannot remember :'( 😳) so we started chatting and soon Bambie, Zoomie79 and others began to turn up. Despite previous concerns about lack of chess boards, we were a) pleasantly surprised when Bambie and Zoomie79 produced a brand new chess set, and b) even more surprised when we were lent six boards, sets of peices and clocks by the pub!
Throughout the afternoon other members began to turn up; Marinkatomb; late to his own doo 😉 , JayD, Matt Hortin, The Slow Pawn, Colette, Murrow, DOlivier2004, knightwest, Jones2005, royalchicken, Starrman, and several other people who I will, embarresingly have to edit into here once I remember who they were. The beer was flowing and chess carried on right through the evening, and the only points it stopped briefly were when Russ and Chris arrived and Russ announced he was placing a tab behind the bar for a free drink each and later on in the evening when Russ also ordered pizza for us; which was a master stroke! Chess games then resumed, and of particular interest was the variation Boris (the slow pawn) and colette bought to the table which involved 2 or 4 boards and taken pieces off one board being passed on to another. I won't go into any more detail, except to explain that I managed to checkmate Collete with 2 queens, 3 rooks, 3 knights and 2 bishops on the board; or something rediculous along those lines.
Of particular interest was a deep discussion of the French Defence and the Tarrasch, led by Boris and James, and being closely followed by myself, Mark, royalchicken (who is also a Mark) and Collete; all drunk and just about keeping up! By this stage, Knightwest and Jones2005 (Matt) were at the bar discussing the finer details of their accountancy exams, Russ and Chrismo were wildly giving away secrets about RHP etc... 😛 and we were beginning to wander what to do after. "Wandering" reminds me that someone, I know not who, managed to get a Bob The Dog CD playing in the pub which rocked!
So at kicking out time some people headed home "byeee" and the rest of us; Russ, Chris, James, Angie, Mark, other Mark Matt Hortin, Matt (jones2005), collete, knightwest, myself, and a few others ( I think) who I will again have to edit into here, went to San Miguel; a tapas bar opposite Edgware Road station, where we had more beer, more tabacco and some very intruiging card tricks by Mark and Angie, although Matt (Hortin) very suspiciously seemed to know how every trick worked.
By now, everyone was drunk enough for the conversation to turn to a mix of domestic fox shagging, my mother 😲, Shavixmir being my father 😳 and how drunk Russ was 😛.
Then we all went our separate ways and I helped Angie and Shavixmir catch a cab, and then had to wait another half hour for another one. I got to Victoria and then realised buses had stopped so had to queue for 45minutes 😲😲😲😠 for another cab back home. I got in at three and collapsed, and for the first time was not tempted to log onto RHP as soon as I got home 😳
Anyway, thanks guys for a most awesome night, and I just look forward to seeing you all again sometime!
