I sincerely believe that if the Queen had made an impromptu public address to her citizens, things could have been altered sooner.

I am not a staunch Royalist myself, but this is her gig and when she wants us to go to war, we go (the decent people are in the majority).

It is also unfortunate that this happened under Mr. Cameron's watch, but he is not the man for the job, if he didn't see this coming when he took up office and now feels he needs advice from someone who didn't really resolve any of his own country's problems with gangs (we have some excellent minds in this country as well).

If the stupidity of our rich (not the young, because they are stupid until educated anyway) is allowed to continue, things will only get worse.
As the population grows and standards of education drop, cutting the number of Police is the last thing you want to do.

As for freedom, every one calls for freedom, but a real free man would scare the crap out of you (the looters are free spirits).

Edit: And while I am on it, this business of evicting looters is a ridiculous idea for two reasons, the first being the authorities will have a harder job keeping an eye on them, and the second, it doesn't make the problem go away and any decent member of the family suffers also.

They should be banged up and only released once they have passed an exam, the judge should stipulate release would only come about after passing a few qualifications, with History being compulsory along with Maths and English, unless they already have these, and then the dreaded Home Economics card should be played.
