But they are the precious ones, the future, we should teach them well and and let them lead the way, we should show them all the beauty they possess inside and give them a sense of pride to make it easier; let's let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be.
Case and point.

If the riots continue the government will just up the ante. They were just caught unawares. If they were to have enough men on standby to cope with this sort of thing all the time, then it would cost the taxpayer a fortune so I think it is a case of striking the right balance.
I can very well understand not wanting to escalate matters if there is still only rioting going on. Let them rage out their anger, catch a few bricks on your riot shield, and move on. But once it's already descended into burglary and arson? No way - bring out the rubber and bop them over the head. You don't protect a hooligan's "privacy" over the backs of the innocent bystander.
There aren't enough idiots to sustain this as they are in the minority. The majority of the masses are happy with their jobs, cars, houses and 2.4 kids. It could only turn to complete anarchy if there was complete social unrest.
I both hope and believe that you are right.

Only the yobbos who have been watching too much imported Yankee television. Your real Englishman swings a cricket bat, of course. (For one, it has edges. Nice, hard, skin-breaking edges.)

The post that was quoted here has been removedNo it's not. There is a more to England than big cities!
The media is so full of crap and statistics and suddenly everyone is an expert on riots. Blame the government, blame the police and blame the parents. Honestly, I am fed up with hearing about it, and possibly the more it is kept in the news, the more it will happen. 😕

simple equation really - bad parents + lack of opportunists for young people + soft police stances + bad government education system = look wat iz stole from tat shop, tesco value rice init sham. me mumz will be so proud like.
The most scary thing of all was not the thousands of unemployable yobs marauding the streets of our capitals, nor the fact that a few of their cohorts were as young as 11 years old, nor that 4 people were murdered, nor that a baby was kidnapped from it's mothers arms, nor that buildings which had stood since long before WW2 were casually set alight whilst people were still in them...
No, the scariest thing for me was hearing Theresa May the morning after the big one, stating on national TV that a further 20% cut in police funding would not affect front-line services.
