@great-big-stees saidOr what you consider to be civility at least!
How nice to see that civility has indeed returned to, at least some of, the threads.

but, if it is , this is what social(ism) medicine brings you.
poor doctors, poor facilities, poor pre-ventive care, etc.
socialist medicine has no capacity to care for the population.
it does provide salairies to the politiclally appointed administrators who are eating pasta by the seaside.

@kewpie saidLooks like a world wide recession.
I understand that the authorities are trying to delay the spread, but that's just so that the hospitals will get more time to prepare for the influx of patients. It really isn't something that most people (in first-world countries) need to be worried about IMHO.
Could be a great opportunity for Australia & NZ
(providing they keep it under control)???

We've all seen now how conservative government reacts to a crisis. It doesn't. It just "doubts that is true" until enough people die that the people demand action.
@suzianne saidI do believe you pretty much hit the nail on the head so to speak.

Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did
it. Somebody got angry about that, because it was Everybody’s job.
Everybody thought Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that
Everybody wouldn’t do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed
Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have.

@kewpie saidMy point was and is, more will die.
More than 233 people have died in Italian road accidents so far this year, yet Italians are unconcernedly driving their cars. Your point is?
Nearly 11,000 Italians dead now.
A lot has happened in 3 weeks!
Has your opinion of COVID-19 changed now?
I think many have changed their oinions .... it's not a bad flu season!
