My normal stratagey is to go for some kind of stochastic effect in which the ball, by chance, hits at least one pin. I find my strike/gutter ratio doing this tends to require a lot of scientific notation for its expression.

Well, if you really want to improve your game I could go through it step by step. As with all things, it will take a little practice but I can point out things for you to look for in your game. 🙂

Thing is, I play very infrequently. Just socially, the way many people play chess, or smoke cannabis 😉. So my improvement prospects are limited.

OK, in that case the best tip I can give is to lead with your thumb. If you throw right down the center and use your thumb to lead, you should be able to atleast get pretty close to where you want.
