Why are we so ready to judge people for making decisions we don't know the full meaning of?

Are the repeated references to suicide connected to his own OP?
Or are they connected to the discussion - and the people who have been in discussions here?
Is he still smarting from having made a bit of a fool of himself about the causes of suicide on the Ethical Creeds thread?
Who knows. It seems like a topic that should have been a new thread, and yet he's chosen to post it here on this one. What do you think it means?

It's up to each individual to "judge" themselves as these three authors have done and then published their points of view
as you have done here on this internet public forum.
I share their points of view.

I think perhaps GB you may have misinterpreted the meaning of this quote. (Apologies if you haven't). I'm 'assuming' you have interpreted it in a religious context, in that a man killing himself destroys all humanity as an affront to the divine. (?!) - I read it more that 'a man killing a man' still exists in the world, while a man killing himself 'turns off' existence, as far as he is concerned. I don't think Chesterton was passing a judgement on suicide itself.
“Suicide is man's way of telling God, 'You can't fire me - I quit!” Bill Maher
For many, suicide has nothing to do with God. Indeed, many will not even believe in his existence. From experience, suicide in more often than not a desperate act from an individual overwhelmed by life.
