Where or when did you ask for "direct links" for each one?

I still really wonder about this because predisposition is not the same as causation. What this means is that even if we have a mental ailment/condition which predisposes us to have suicidal tendencies we ultimately must make the decision to end our lives ourselves and even if one can cite mental illness as a contributing factor there must still be ...[text shortened]... ed suicide. Their mental state is not a causation, its merely a symptom of their circumstances.
Debating the Ghost on mental health is akin to telling you how best to collect litter on Wimbledon Common.

I'm not sure your apparent neutrality becomes you in the circumstances. 😛
i trust you have protection on your lap top, you are basically foaming at the mouth
chill out, call 999, the fire brigade is the best to put out pant's on fire
Originally posted by FMFYou were called a liar because you would not provide a direct link to your statistic. If you do not wish to be termed a liar then cite direct links to your statistics.
Calling someone a liar repeatedly and then claiming later that it was because you were too impatient to check the sources that had been cited is a pretty daft way for you to be carrying on.

Do you understand the terms, link or lie FMF?
Originally posted by robbie carrobieI'm not sure 'predisposed' or 'causation' are the best terminology when trying to understand the link between mental health, despair and suicide.
Sir I am not debating you on mental health, I am debating you on philisophical grounds because we both know that predisposition is not the same as a causation.
Take for example the first client i lost to suicide. (And i did take it as a personal loss).
Diagnosed with Schizophrenia. Mental health unstable for 20 years, paranoia and severe anxiety that led to deep depression and eventually, without warning, throwing himself under a train. - For him it had all just become too much to cope with. Was he predisposed to take his own life? Many with schizophrenia have no suicidal inclination.- Was despair the 'cause' of his action?
Thoughts for Today:
“Suicide is man's way of telling God, 'You can't fire me - I quit!”
―Bill Maher
“When people kill themselves, they think they're ending the pain, but all they're doing is passing it on to those they leave behind.”
―Jeannette Walls
“Suicide is a hasty unresolved death that slowly kills those close-by day by day.”
―Anthony Liccione
Footnote: “There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says,
'All right, then, have it your way'" -C.S. Lewis.
HandyAndy: I don't consider suicide a religious issue.Oh, You don't? But, not so long ago you said this: "In my own view, God created your life and mine [and the lives of the rest human race since human history began] with an individual purpose and plan, therefore suicide per se would represent the superimposition of your will or mine over His."

Nor do I.

He may have felt despair but are we to conclude that he had no choice over the matter? Clearly he must have consciously resolved to end his life?
