Mine comes from the fact my wife(Amy) and I love the islands, before
Jedi was born(11 months old now) we would run off to Jamacia or
Cancun for a week or so about 4x a year. We are huge parrotheads
which fits into the picture. We still escape to the beach when we can.
the Doc part comes from the fact I am a Chiropractor. 2nd generation
actually, my wife, father sister and brother(finishes soon) are all
Chiro's.

Chess Geek and a Star Trek Geek????

Ha! Love ya Ray! Thanks for sharing that.

Me...I do love the old Star Trek and hate new ones...But I am
probably the only Chess/Conan Geek on the site....I own every book
about Conan ever produced that I can find...and the original series in
four different prints as well as from two different countries...needless
to say i think Robert E. Howard was a great author.

I have yet to be able to run across the originals that ran in Weird
Tales from the 30's...and I probably couldn't touch them for the price
they are worth.

I have a box of moldering old copies of Weird Tales that I bought at
an amazing price, I'll have to see if any of them has an original
Howard story in it. Have you seen the movie (the name escapes me
at the moment) about the romance between Howard and the woman
upon whose memoirs the movie is based? Quite the story. But as
you know if you know Howard's life history, the ending is a bit of a
downer.

Well, mine is kind of boring and self explanatory too - J is my initial
and King is to do with chess. Just thought I'd add a "y" to be .... "cool"
or something,

not quite the same. My first name is Gilbert, my last name is Sintubin.
Sometimes I am referred to as Gil, the first three letters of my
firstname. Sometimes I am referred to (including by myself) as Sin,
the first three letters of my last name, with a spicy connotation.

Sin, Gil, Gilbert, sintubin , whatever I recognize...

Mine is the main character in some books by Orson Scott Card, a SF-
writer. "Ender's game" is the first of them!
I can recommend Orson Scott Card, I think he's the best writer there
is...
