Sir Sidney Poitier, first Black man to win an Oscar for best actor, dies aged 94

Bahamian media outlets reported his death on Friday, citing the country's minister of foreign affairs Fred Mitchell. The Bahamian-American artist had won an Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in 1964 for his performance in the film Lilies of the Field.
