@earl-of-trumps saidHis appeal in the UK was quite broad at one time many years ago, but I think his musical portfolio lacked sufficient depth to drive wide long-lasting appeal. He’s remembered fondly here but as a bit of a one or two, maybe three hit wonder.

some days i wonder about celebrity and the seeming nonsense associated
then i think of meat loaf, and his obese, sweaty apparition on stage and film
GAAAHH
and then i think of the times in my car, seeing paradise by the dashboard lights
and just the sheer number of times i got lucky because he was singing and i was not
