Maybe: used to show that something is possible or that something might be true.
Cambridge dictionary.
Maybe: often used as a cheap cop-out when a wannabe-edgy remark doesn't land.

Like when a pilot forgets the degrees, at which they should put their flaps when landing. (25-40)

Could you give some examples? Quite easy if it is 'often used.'

Bob Barker was closer to 100 years old! If only he had lived a few more months.

You've never watched The Price is Right?? If you have you missed the point of not going over.
Well, Barker has passed away at 99, the closest you can get to a “dollar” in life without actually hitting triple digits, and the internet has all discovered the same joke at once. I cannot believe Bob Barker lived as close to 100 as possible without going over.16 hours ago

Wow, I never thought of this.

I mean, yeah, it's funny, but it never entered my mind.

I'm just sad that two of America's biggest pet-loving celebrities are now gone.

Betty White, now Bob Barker. Life moves on, I guess.

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Samuel “Joe” Wurzelbacher, who was thrust into the political spotlight as “Joe the Plumber” after questioning Barack Obama about his economic policies during the 2008 presidential campaign, and who later forayed into politics himself, has died, his son said Monday. He was 49.

His oldest son, Joey Wurzelbacher, said his father died Sunday in Wisconsin after a long illness. His family announced this year on an online fundraising site that he had pancreatic cancer.

“The only thing I have to say is that he was a true patriot,” Joey Wurzelbacher — whose father had the middle name Joseph and went by Joe — said in a telephone interview. “His big thing is that everyone come to God. That’s what he taught me, and that’s a message I hope is heard by a lot of people.”

Jan Jongbloed. Dutch goalkeeper in both football World Cups that were stolen from us, 1974 (Jerry cheated) and 1978 (Argy fascism, and terrorism against the refs). He should've won both.
