Joseph Stalin once said that the real power did not lay in the hands of the voters, but rather in the hands of those who count the votes. Just a thought about our "elected" dictator to ponder.

Oh, and I would like to mention (and to no one inparticular. Not just Toker/Mute) that it is indeed unwise to diss bbarr. Truly, it is poking the proverbial tiger. 😉

Well, to be honest either your comments are ignorant or ill adviced or it sounds like you are being sarcastic and trying to play dumb. So we give you the benefit of a doubt and not think you stupid, so it only leaves you being sarcastic and trying to play dumb, and it just doesnt usually gain any ones hearts.

If you do have an honest and good comment say it. If you are just trying to act like this is a game, then save it.

has anyone heard of bush pushing for the legitimate use of chemical weapons on iraq? talk about hypocrisy! iraq were condemned for using and testing chemical weapons and it now appears that bush is will to do the same! on top of this it is merely to test that the weapons are fit to sell!!!
all the worlds problems revolve around money. capitalism is to blame.

I would not say capitalism is to blame. What do you suggest instead, communism???
Communism kills life altogether, no one would have any ambition

Capitalism is the lesser of two evils, even if people exploit the freedom that they are given. Greed is a flaw of humans.

I wouldn't say that communism is a bad thing. I can't, as there has never been a true communism yet. I would like to think that it could be good. If you look at it, the Star Trek fantasy world is, in its essence, a communism. Of course that's fiction, but I don't see why we couldn't prosper as such in a modern day real situation.

Well said. As an idea communism is a very beautiful idea, if somewhat naive. If communism coudl really work, i wouldnt mind supporting it but i truth people are not capable fo making it work. there are alsways peopl like stalin that will abuse the idea.

Exactly, due to inherent human fault communism is a kind of utopia (though it is only a good thing depending on your perception of it). Without doubt though, it is unattainable.

due to the lack of motivation that you previously mentioned.

however it may lead to a better world without crime and war and more interest in bettering ourselves as people and as a species. Ultimately i hope that it would lead to great advances in science etc

Mate, I can see what you are saying, but there is no way we would revert to communism

good

unfortunately i can also see that it can't happen. the example that star trek shows is purely fictional but non the less compelling
