are hearts not beating???

thank you for yer considered reply...
"Here" is behind an avatar at Red Hot Pawn.

"Real life" is home in thousands of earthly places where we make love, money and war, not necessarily in that order.

I think it's more beneficial to be more caring and attentive to others in person. One almost has to buffer one's real life with a persona online these days. Those who don't do this eventually wish they had, especially after they get their first stalker.
Do you mean a real life stalker, or just some online goon?

Here there is no body language to interpret or misinterpret. That's a big plus in my book. I'm easily annoyed by people who pay close attention to body language but can't seem to hear what I'm saying.

But the weird part about being online is that even if you are nothing but words on a screen, the same thing can happen.

I must have somehow missed hearing of those recent horrific REAL events. I don't visit a lot of boards. Just this one, the one Club I belong to, and the Chess Forum. So I assume this came up at some other board. But I have no intention of prying into anyones personal life, even if that person has already talked about it at some other Forum.

Perhaps someone could start a thread called "Who could be the who'd-have-guessed-it mass murderers among us?" and then people could mention the names of forum members they don't much care for or often disagree with?

For me FB bridges a gap between the online and the real world. As many of my contacts there know me in the real world. I'm pretty much the same person everywhere.

Example of a recent FB post:

Hey, all you people on facebook posting pictures of yourself in various stages of undress.
Y'all could stand to drop a few pounds.

There are a few people from RHP (somewhat real life) that I also "know" from FB (partly real life), some of whom I know in actual real life, and some of whom I sometimes end up talking about RHP people and threads with, further smudging the boundaries between the various degrees of real-life-ness.

Whoa! It's just like when you stand between two mirrors, and you can see multiple infinite images of yourself.
Or I'm just stoned. 😞

Put the mirrors in different rooms and then make some cheese on toast.

I mean your typical sociopath online goon who you hope doesn't become a real life stalker but who has threatened to in the past.

Is this what the rest of the world calls what Americans call grilled cheese sandwich?
