Thank you for bumping the thread for me.

The discussion begun elsewhere led me to this thread, and I have to state:

* There is a thrid way, which in the light of this thread would be to be open minded. Which is obviously not the same as being open to everything.

* I asked in the tertium quid thread if GB knew somebody walking that said third way and he pointed me here. But the people I see posting are not walking it.

* In fact it seems like describing humankind if GB rants on about closed minds. So maybe just teh human condition?

??? How do you define an open mind? Just the ability and will to learn? Because then I guess all Scientology people are just dandy. They just define what's important to learn differently from you. I guess that goes for all cults. And since it's impossible to learn everything, you have to choose. Is it that choice that gives you an open mind? If so who decides what is the 'right' thing to learn?

I guess you need to define enlightenment too.

I don't believe in absolutes. Does that make my mind closed or open to learn and re-learn?

I mostly agree with you on #10, although I would lose 'ultimate' since reality is strong enough on it's own and 'under the sun' because it apllies to the whole universe.

Actually yes I did enjoy the book. And yes I am convinced of the fact that there is absolute truth which precedes us and is higher than the mind of man.
